Providing birth and/or postpartum care is when a doula helps to nourish both the mother and the new baby in ways that stretch far beyond food. From the first night of your labor, to the first few months beyond birth is a fragile but empowering period of time that deserves the necessary support in order to grow stronger for your tomorrow.

Nourishment during this time can look like your doula (hi, its me!) taking care of the birthing woman and her environment. This includes stabilizing or breaking through emotions surrounding birth, physically comforting labor pains, light household chores, providing cooked or easily frozen meals for mom, supporting all methods of infant feeding, watching the baby while mom takes time to shower or rest alone, helping with sibling integration during birth or postpartum, as well as errand or appointment running. In its essence, doula care is taking care of business. This is a sacred time for you and your family to be soaking in all the love you have created. Let me take care of your to-do list.
